Who’s going to do it … if you don’t?
There are lots of people who are actively engaged in their lives. From those extra steps to support your team members at work, participating in community activities and events, to going the extra mile for family and friends. The latter can sometimes be equivalent to a few miles but who’s keeping count?
Nonetheless, we are all moving, shaking, making things happen, or merely expending energy. But how’s YOUR feelings and energy lately? And are you OK?
Sure you can physically hit the gym and ‘work it all out’ as they say. You can take that much-needed walk every morning or evening around the neighborhood or park. So again, I ask you … Are you OK? It’s important to pause and think first before answering and let me tell you why.ย The success of everything you do depends on whether you are OK.
In other words, you have to first, make sure that you’re OK then ensure you stay that way before you can effectively do for others. If you do this, you bring your best foot forward … remarkable things happen … the things you didn’t know you were capable of making happen … happen IF you make sure you’re OK first.
Taking care of your emotional well-being is a pivotal part of being OK. Peace of mind, ease of being, less stress and enjoyment of life should be your new normal. If it isn’t, then you have much work to do. The truth is that stress is a part of life and it’s not going anywhere. How you choose to engage with stress is the game changer and determines how stressed you’ll feel … literally.

For most of us, there’s always room for improvement with that. Instead, choose to change your view and perspective then take action to walk that path. You can’t invest your energy into something that gives you no return. Our current day and time gifts us the capacity to do great things and to accomplish our dreams even faster.
You can indeed achieve goals successfully and accumulate lots of ‘things’ in life. But you should certainly include gaining pleasure from it, along the way. This aspect should be non-negotiable. Otherwise, what’s the point of it all if you don’t have time, lack peace of mind or can’t enjoy it.
I don’t know about you, but life is too short to tolerate anything less than emotional freedom and well-being. Starting on the path to obtaining this begins with a decision. I know that many people are still searching for where they fit comfortably in this life and that is OK.
Know this; life doesn’t start feeling comfortable until and when you make it that way.
We’re all here for a temporary time, and part of the journey is to seek out who you are and what you’re all about … To do a little this, perhaps a great deal of that, discover what works and learn what doesn’t, and then dare to make the changes to heal and grow.
