Four Organization Hacks to Eliminate Clutter
Your home is your sanctuary and the place you can count on to relax and decompress from the stresses of the outside world. While we all strive for peace and harmony within the walls of our homes, having unnecessary clutter and disorganization can make a house feel more chaotic than comfortable! With the coming of a new year, now is the perfect time to make changes, and organizing your living space is a great place to start.
Weโve all seen the articles and blogs floating around social media that discuss various โlife hacksโ or shortcuts that can simplify our lives, and organization hacks are at the top of the list! Instead of being overwhelmed with making big, sweeping changes in your home, starting small can have a longer-lasting impact on creating new routines and clearing up the clutter in the most used areas of your house.
Below Iโve put together a list of four of my favorite modern organization hacks that are not only simple to do, but also look great and can be a fun way to express your creativity in the doldrums of winter.
1. Repurpose unused furniture (#1 FAV)
If you have an old armoire, dresser, or entertainment center taking up space in your home, you have a couple of choices โ get rid of it or turn it into something fresh and new! From transforming your armoire into an adorable garden tool organizer to building a hanging bookcase out of dresser drawers, there are countless plans available on the internet for turning old furniture into creative organization tools.
2. Use pegboards for easy organization
Pegboards may not be known for their glamorous appearance, but with a little creativity, you can turn an inexpensive pegboard into the ideal organization center. These are great for use in the garage or mudroom to organize tools and outdoor supplies, but they can also be painted and used inside the house for creating a unique bathroom, jewelry, or kitchen storage!
3. Give old pallets new life
Over the last several years, pallets have become the new โitโ tool for creating all sorts of amazing organizational spaces, furniture, and art. You can often get these for free from businesses tossing them out to the junk pile, and their rustic, country look makes them perfect for creating organized coffee bars, bookshelves, or even tables and beds with built-in storage.
4. Use tension rods to eliminate clutter
Tension rods are great for hanging curtains, but have you ever tried using them to organize some of the most cluttered spaces of your home? Try putting one in the back of your kitchen cabinet to store lids for pots and pans neatly, or use one in your cleaning closet to stop all of your various cleaners and supplies from piling up in the bottom of your cabinet.
There are thousands of ways to transform used, everyday items into organizational wonders, and doing so not only makes your life easier โ but it also reduces waste and gives otherwise โuselessโ items a brand new purpose!
Everyone deserves to have a home that fills their soul, and by taking charge of your organizational habits in small steps, you can create an ideal living space to soothe your mind and relax your spirit. Go on….reclaim your space!
